       F is for Family is a Netflix original drama/comedy series.

Synopsis[]

F is For Family is a Netflix original show about a lower middle class family, the Murphy's, living in the 1970's.[1] Nothing ever seems to go right for them. The show is inspired by Bill Burr's childhood.

The first season was released on December 18, 2015. Season 2 premiered May 30, 2017. On June 28, 2017, the show was renewed for a third season. On July 1, 2018, Burr confirmed season three. On November 30, 2018, the third season was released. Netflix announced on January 24, 2019 that F is For Family was renewed for a fourth season It was released on June 12th 2020. On October 1st 2020 the series was renewed for a 5th and final season and it was released on November 25, 2021.[2]

Cast and Characters[]

  • Bill Burr as Frank Murphy: the abusive, neglectful, quick-tempered, foul-mouthed, disillusioned Korean War veteran, the father of the Murphy family, and the main protagonist of the series
  • Laura Dern as Sue Murphy: the caring wife of Frank and struggling entrepreneur who is constantly seeking for more purpose in her life
  • Justin Long as Kevin Murphy: Frank's oldest, slightly dimwitted son who is a juvenile delinquent, chronic pot smoker, and struggling rock musician who often rebels to his own family occasionally
  • Haley Reinhart as Bill Murphy: the middle child of the Murphy family and the "punching bag" for most people around him, including most of his own family due to his cowardice.
  • Debi Derryberry as Maureen Murphy: the tomboyish, innocent, intelligent, and youngest daughter of the Murphys, who is often manipulative and takes advantage of other people around her
  • Sam Rockwell as Vic: the wealthy, womanizing next-door neighbor of Frank Murphy
